1st Impression: Clash of the Titans-Game play footage
by Rich on Jul.23, 2010, under Video Game Trailers, Video Games
Clash of the Titans was an enjoyable remake of an awesome classic. It looks like the game borrows some game play ideas from God Of War. Not necessarily a bad thing.
A New “Wave” coming to 360 games?
by Handel on Jul.22, 2010, under General Gaming News, Video Games
So, today is my birthday and I decided I was going to take a look at the upcoming games for the fall and see if I would preorder anything. I notice something weird-A(very) slightly new design on 360 game boxes. Take a look here at a few very popular titles coming up:
All of these are standard 360 box art fare. Now two of these titles are 360 exclusives and one is not, so I figured that the new design I saw has nothing to do with exclusive titles. Now let’s take a look at the new design:
Now none of these titles are 360 exclusives but there are some high profile titles in there. The last Call of Duty on the 360 is probably the highest grossing game title on a home console in 2010 thus far. Doing a quick search, I find that a) this “wave” was the symbol on the invites to the 360 Kinect event at e3 and b) prior to being called “Kinect,” one of the names Project NATAL was tossing around was “Wave.” Does the symbol indicate Kinect support for these games or maybe it is just a box art redesign overall with all future games to bear it? The reason why it stuck out in my head is that the Wave completely removes “XBox Live” branding from the front of a 360 title and that is huge. Branding is huge to all companies and Microsoft is no different. Granted, any Call of Duty game is going to support XBL but I am curious to find out why they removed the brand. More on this story as I find it.
1st Impression: Captain Blood
by Rich on Jun.29, 2010, under Video Game Trailers, Video Games
Without question one of the greatest hack and slash games in recent memory is the God Of War franchise. While others have duplicated it with mixed results there have been some standouts like Darksiders that have added their own spin on a successful genre. The 1C Company looks to make their mark on this genre with a new character called Captain Blood. Check out this trailer and decide if this is another hack and slash ripoff or a new player that’s ready to give Kratos and War a run for their money.
1st Impression: Vanquish
by Rich on Jun.06, 2010, under Video Game Trailers, Video Games
Every once in awhile a new game using a tried and true formula pushes the envelope and introduces something new to the masses. After checking out this trailer I have to say that Vanquish looks like a game that will change things. Then again trailers always show tons of cool shit and don’t always deliver. I’ll let you guys judge.
1st Impression:Ninety Nine Nights 2
by Rich on Jun.04, 2010, under Video Game Trailers, Video Games
Check out the sequel for the 2006 hack & slash classic Ninety Nine Nights. I like the final fantasy look the characters have but guy narrating the video sounded like he was forced to describe the gameplay at gunpoint. Buy or Pass?

The My Take Radio SSFIV giveaway
by Handel on Apr.25, 2010, under General Gaming News, My Take Radio Show News, Video Games
*NOTE: This is a giveaway contest and completely separate from any other SSFIV offers posted on any MTR websites.
My Take Radio will air its 40th episode since the relaunch this week and as a combination of thanks for fan support and celebration of the release we are having a drawing for one (1) FREE COPY of Super Street Fighter IV. A quick word of warning is that it is for the XBox 360 only – we apologize but it is the only format we could get our hands on. We also give the disclaimer that the copy is very very lightly used—translation I couldn’t wait ‘til Tuesday and I have been playing it. Still, it is an otherwise brand new copy of the XBox 360 version of the game and this is what you have to do to enter the drawing:
- All entrants must be at least 18 years of age (we figure if you are on our forums you should be over 18 anyway.
- You must be a CURRENT member of My Take Radio’s forums and/or fan of the facebook or MySpace My Take Radio fan pages. (prior to 4/25/10)
- There will be a post going up in the forums shortly – you must enter your full name as it would appear on a shipping label. If you are not a forum member (shame on you) you must e-mail your name to prodigal22@aol.com with the subject “SSFIV giveaway (remember you must already be a fan)
- Please remember that I am a U.S. resident and this is an NTSC copy. Consider that before entering because if you win and live outside the U.S., My Take Radio takes zero responsibility if the game does not work.
You must meet ALL THREE (3) requirements to qualify for this contest, no exceptions. Winner will be announced Monday night sometime between 9-11PM EDT via youtube video. I will record each individual name going into a hat (to ensure fairness) and I will pull the name out of the hat in the video. I have zero video editing skills so this is gonna definitely be legit. The prize will be mailed out on Tuesday via USPS express mail so you should get it Wednesday. If the winner is not a U.S. resident then I will still mail it out, but it will be First Class mail. Good luck to everyone.
*all entries must be received by 9PM Eastern Daylight Time on Monday, April 26th, 2010 (checked via timestamp)

Wanna Be A Fighter? UFC Undisputed 2010 Trailer 2
by Rich on Mar.16, 2010, under Video Game Trailers, Video Games
Last year, UFC Undisputed 2009 erased the memories of many a subpar MMA game with fluid motion and innovative gameplay. This year, THQ takes it one step further with UFC Undisputed 2010 by adding an improved career mode, improved controls and new submissions (inverted ones too), as well as over 100 UFC fighters. THQ is ready to step in the cage against the EA Sports MMA offering. In the end, it all boils down to one simple phrase — “So you wanna be a fighter”. Here, let BJ Penn show you how.
UFC Undisputed will be available May 25, 2010 on PS3 & XBOX 360, as well as on the PSP for the first time.
