When you hear Rid­ley Scott & Rus­sell Crowe in the same sen­tence you think of the mas­ter­piece known as Glad­i­a­tor. Crowe and Scott  are col­lab­o­rat­ing for the fifth time to bring the leg­end of Robin Hood to life. To me, the Robin Hood sto­ries never play out well on the sil­ver screen — with the only excep­tions being Robin Hood from Dis­ney as well as both Errol Flynn and Kevin Costner’s inter­pre­ta­tions. This newest adap­ta­tion looks to bor­row from the film style of Glad­i­a­tor and adds a bit more blood­shed which to me isn’t a bad thing.  With an all-star cast, Robin Hood may be a suit­able hero to walk in the foot­steps of Max­imus.
