As an MMA fan I enjoy watch­ing the sport get main­stream expo­sure and evolve. Some­times things come along that hin­der progress or push that progress forward.

Gina Carano aka ” The Face Of Women’s MMA” has helped break the gen­der bar­ri­ers of MMA and has added to the sports main­stream expo­sure. While I am a fan of Gina the fighter  it seems that Gina the super­star takes cen­ter stage nowa­days. Don’t get me wrong she is very attrac­tive which of course is a plus but at times it seems that her expo­sure is based on the phys­i­cal appear­ance and not her phys­i­cal prowess. Keep in mind this was all done to pro­mote a movie she is in directed by Steven Soder­bergh called Knockout.

This lit­tle blurb leads me to a pic posted by the crew at Film­drunk ( A great no b.s movie blog I may add) that is Gina’s cover on ESPN magazine.ESPN knew that as men we think with our dicks a large por­tion of the time so of course why not make a top­less Gina the cover.  Look­ing at this cover the 1st ratio­nal response is fuck that’s hot but in the end will this improve the state of women’s mma or will it hin­der it? As always your thoughts are appreciated.
