Here we are treated to the exten­sive intro movie for Epic Mickey which in itself is a tes­ta­ment to Dis­ney movie magic.

Dis­ney has always had a phe­nom­e­nal track record with ani­mated fea­tures but their live action movies are always hit and miss. For every Pirates Of The Caribbean there is a Herbie:Fully Loaded or a Flub­ber to undo their mas­ter­pieces. Their newest fea­ture bor­rows from the famous Fan­ta­sia short “The Sorcerer’s Appren­tice” in name only. Nico­las Cage and Jay Baruchel play the duo of sor­cerer and appren­tice. While their chem­istry is there it does feel like Cage is just in it for the quick pay day to pay for his pyra­mid tomb. I think Dis­ney will put every effort into mak­ing this a fran­chise since Pirates is get­ting ready to wrap up.

Do you think hobo Nic Cage and the nerd from every teen angst movie in the last six months have the tools to make this film successful?

Video Game movies are always a mixed bag for me. I try to find the good in all game movies but some­times there is no redeem­ing qual­ity that keeps me inter­ested. The Prince Of Per­sia film looks to be one of the bet­ter video game adap­ta­tions. With Dis­ney money,Bruckheimer involve­ment and a decent cast I see this movie being suc­cess­ful. I think they are going to present it to view­ers much like Pirate Of The Caribbean which isn’t a bad thing hon­estly. You be the judge

Prince Of Per­sia hits the­aters May 28th, 2010

I have always been a fan of the Toy Story movies and with the birth of Blu-Ray, Pixar films look bet­ter than they ever have. Dis­ney recently re-released the 1st & 2nd Toy Story films in 3D and they are still as pop­u­lar as they ever were, rak­ing in some good money. While I usu­ally frown upon sequels a major­ity of the time, Dis­ney seems to always have a good story to tell in their films. By the looks of things, Toy Story 3 will be no dif­fer­ent and of course it’ll be in the new Dis­ney sta­ple 3-D.
