Bald Rage: Junior Dos Santos Is Not Ready
by Handel on Aug.08, 2010, under MMA, UFC News & Rants
Once again, I just have to preface this by saying that this is my opinion and mine alone. Please feel free to agree or disagree. I am no sports writer or analyst, I just call it how I see it. Congratulations to Dos Santos on winning last night’s bout against Roy “Big Country” Nelson – especially since the win guarantees him a title shot against the winner of Velasquez vs. Lesnar at UFC 121.
A quick note on UFC 121. My money is on Lesnar this time. Ryan Bader says that once Lesnar gets tired it will be Cain all the way. I say if getting beaten in the face repeatedly by Shane Carwin for three minutes will make any man tired and look what happened – Lesnar still has his belt. (continue reading…)
Bald Rage: Silva “sonns” Sonnen
by Handel on Aug.08, 2010, under MMA, UFC News & Rants
I need to preface this editorial with the following: I am not the My Take Radio MMA writer nor do I profess to be any kind of expert on the sport. I know just enough about what is legal and not legal in the cage. The reason for this article is that whenever Rich, Andrea and I watch an event together, they comment on the fact that I have insightful things to say about the fights. Regardless of what I say, I don’t try to take anything away from these fighters; I know I could not do what they do and I only speak in reference to what one man (or woman) did to the other.
Silva vs. Sonnen was a fantastic match and both men performed well. Silva said after the fight that a rib injury almost kept him out of the fight and if that is true then his performance was beyond what we could expect. That said, let’s face facts, the champion was put through his paces, he was humbled before he got down on his knees and praised Sonnen and if I were him, I would be somewhat embarrassed.
Bald Rage: The State of Hollywood Today
by Handel on Jul.15, 2010, under Editorials,Columns and Features, Movies
If you have ever heard an episode of My Take Radio then you have probably heard me flipping out about how terrible movies are these days. On episode 49 I went somewhat into detail on what is wrong with the film industry. Please allow me to elaborate. This is a two-sided problem that lays fault on both Hollywood and the “average” moviegoer. I am going to go into details on both and then see if I cannot formulate a solution to the issue.
