When I first heard about this movie I said to myself “another Bah-ston crime flick” try­ing to cap­ture the magic of the Departed. But after see­ing this trailer I feel this movie has the star power to stand on its own two feet. It feels less like the Departed and more like Heat. Jon Hamm and Ben Affleck have the poten­tial to make this movie bad ass.  Have a look at the trailer and decide for yourselves

Can it be? A hor­ror movie that is rated-R and seems inter­est­ing. We might have a win­ner a folks with the excep­tion of the damn 3-D

I am not one to watch flicks with Renee Zell­weger sim­ply because I think she sucks. In my opin­ion her best role was in Jerry McGuire, but it seems that she is shed­ding the rom-com image and try­ing out new projects. I was pleas­antly sur­prised at how the plot unfolded in this trailer and it actu­ally suc­ceeded in gain­ing my atten­tion. Now as long as we get no Hugh Grant cameos we should be all good.

Zack Sny­der debuted the trailer for Sucker Punch at comic-con and I must admit it has got my atten­tion. With it’s bad ass visu­als and twisted Alice & Won­der­land style story line it looks like it’ll get a lot of press much like 300 did. The real ques­tion is will peo­ple embrace the weird­ness of this film? Based on the trailer I say odds stand at 50/50. Check it out and decide for yourselves.

Let me in is an Amer­i­can ver­sion of the great Swedish vam­pire film Let the Right One in about a young boy and his rela­tion­ship with a girl who is not like all the oth­ers. Chloe Moretz from Kick-Ass plays the girl with the “secret”. I am always con­cerned with Amer­i­can remakes of for­eign films because most of the time they lose sight of what made the source mate­r­ial clas­sic. But I am going reserve judg­ment till I see it.

A Dark Horse clas­sic comes to life and I must say it looks fan­tas­tic. I remem­ber read­ing Goon comics when I worked in a comic store years ago. They were always amus­ing and well writ­ten. From what I have seen in the trailer it looks like the comic has trans­lated well to the sil­ver screen. If they stay true to the source mate­r­ial I have a feel­ing The Goon will be a house­hold name sooner rather than later.

Mega­mind has the mak­ings of being another Dream­works suc­cess. I only hope that it doesn’t go sequel crazy. Also the music used in the trailer is bad ass. Any movie that can use Lil John in their trailer and do it right has to be good hahaha.

I’ve always liked Danny Trejo. From the knife guy in Des­per­ado to his role in Spy Kids  it seems that Mr. Trejo needed that one role to make him a main­stream icon. When I saw the fake trailer for Machete I said to myself “if this movie were real it would be awe­some” shortly there­after I heard it was being made and I knew it would be talked about every­where.  In keep­ing with the revenge theme Danny is doing another movie called Vengeance which bor­rows the gritty feel and vicious­ness of the Death­wish series. If any­one can carry the torch of the great Charles Bron­son I think  Danny Trejo has the cojones (balls for non span­ish speak­ing read­ers hahaha) to do it. Catch Danny Trejo’s Vengeance 11–11-10

Dwayne John­son aka The Rock seems to be mov­ing away from kid friendly fair and embrac­ing his action movie chops once more. I think he may have found a solid flick to show­case his tal­ent. With roles in The Other Guys,Fast5 and Faster it looks like the Rock is finally is doing some flicks I’ll actu­ally watch.Finally The Rock has come­back to action flicks!!!! Hahahaha

I know that Face­book & MySpace have very deep ori­gins but does any­one give a shit? Look a bunch of non pussy get­ting guys come up with a social media site and it became suc­cess­ful . That’s the movie right there folks!! I am all for movies that tell the ori­gins of things we may care about but has Face­book become so big that it deserves a film? See for your­selves and share your thoughts.
